Newest icon almost finished

Hi Mary, I thought I would post photos of my newest icon almost finished. The central icon is 14" x 22" and worked in silk and metallic threads. I have finished the lettering and am working on the grapevine embroidery and will post a photo when I'm done.

Absolutely amazing, you have really shown in an emotional way the scene of Christ's death, but not only that your needlework is outstanding the way you have contrasted the light of Christ and the dark of the cross in the background. beautiful.

This is great. Did you do the drawing yourself? Have you used the same technique (apart from the gold couching) of Galina Tregubov?
Where did you learn? How long did this take? I'm just starting to do icons myself and want to find out everything I can from people who are further along the path.
