I learned to embroider when I was a kid, when everyone was really into cross stitch (remember the '80s?). Eventually, I migrated to surface embroidery, teaching myself with whatever I could get my hands on...read more

Garden Swirl – Available Now!

Amazon Books

Today’s the day!

Today, we launch the materials kits for Garden Swirl, the upcoming stitch-along on Needle ‘n Thread.

Please read below to understand the details of kit and box availability!

Garden Swirl stitch-along kit

We have both a materials kit and a decorative box for this project. You will find them listed here in the shop.

Right now, we have a tiny handful of decorative boxes in stock, left over from our early shopping event for members of the Needle ‘n Thread community on Patreon. (Mistaken purchases that people wanted to cancel before we shipped.)

I’ve listed those, but they will sell out very quickly.

We do have more boxes coming in! If you would like us to hold your kit until the box arrives, leave a note in the “note” part of your order or drop me an email. We cannot hold kits if we don’t receive some kind of request to hold, either on your order or via email directly to me at mary(at)needlenthread(dot)com.

You can also just order your kit today so that you have it on hand when the stitch-along starts, and then order the box when they are re-stocked. We won’t get to the finishing part of the stitching-along for several weeks, so you’d have the box by that time.

The materials kits are available in the shop right now. If they sell out, we do plan to produce another small batch, but this will take a little time to get the components in. We will base how many we produce on expressions of interest if they sell out. I can’t afford to over-produce kits – we have neither the space nor the capital to do that.

If you don’t get a kit today from this batch, never fear! Just let me know you want one, and then you can still jump in on the stitch-along at any point. The stitch-along will develop with about one lesson a week, and the lessons are available even after the stitch-along has ended.

Sorry for the Confusion!

You’d think I’d know how to gauge interest and quantities at this point, after so many years of doing this.

Fact is, I can never tell what projects people will jump at, and which ones they’ll pass on. We have too many kits leftover from projects that didn’t catch people’s interest, because I misjudged their potential popularity. And being a very small business with both limited space and limited capital, I have to make conservative decisions when it comes to production. It seems this project is a little more popular than I was expecting.

Thanks for understanding!
