Merry Christmas, my friends!
I wish each of you all the joys and blessings of a happy Christmas season!
Here in Kansas, I’m celebrating the feast of Christmas with the local family. We went to Midnight Mass last night, so it’s a nice, peaceful, quiet start to the day in my house. But I’ll shift to my sister’s home later, where things will be much more boisterous!
I have an extensive family, so Christmas is always boisterous. My sister and brother-in-law host a big Christmas dinner at their home (which is only about four blocks away). Sometimes, friends join us there, too. Besides dinner, we play games, sing, play music, play with the little kids, and just chatter and gather. So that’s how I’ll be spending my day! I likely won’t indulge in any stitchery – but I might read a book this morning, because quiet, slow mornings are pretty rare these days.
For your Christmas enjoyment, Anna and I put together another I-Spy puzzle for you! Thanks to my baby brother Jim for photographing it!

If you click on the photo above, you’ll be taken to a much larger version of the I-Spy image. Fingers crossed, the resolution is acceptable enough for zooming closely without too much fuzz.
Let’s Play!
I’m never quite sure about these little rhyming ditties that I pen for this. My biggest focus is usually getting the rhythm correct (hopefully) – otherwise, they can be rather cringy! Still, the whole point is the hunt, right? This one is abundant, but wow! There were a lot of threes. Three of this, three of that…
Merry Christmas, my friends! Let’s play a game.
We’ve done it before – the idea’s the same:
Look through the scene to find what you can!
We’ll start with a clock and one snowy man.
There’s tea – tea for two – can you find both of them?
Bright stars – there are six! (Hint: Bethlehem)
Of course, there is Santa – five! (But no elves)
And three mini packages nestled on shelves!
There’s a key and a lock, two skaters, it’s true!
And thirteen bright bows that are waiting for you!
Four men that are made from sweet gingerbread,
And one hefty elephant pulling a sled.
Ding, dong, can you hear them? Five bells ringing out?
Do you see twelve little books that are scattered about?
Crowns? There are three! And birds? There are eight!
And nutcrackers three, standing up straight!
“Ho Ho Ho!” appears once – a cry that is jolly!
Wreaths? You’ll find three, some decked out in holly.
Seven holiday trees – they’re so festive and bright!
And two beeswax candles to shine in the night.
There’s one corncob pipe, but there’s no button nose.
There’s one bright red lantern – how warmly it glows!
Did you see the two mittens hidden there, hidden here?
And while you are looking, find four little deer!
Two rulers to measure some distances small,
And pinecones? There are twelve (I think that is all).
Pins – seventeen; and scissors? find six.
There are two stitching tools that we’ll call “laying sticks.”
Find two aficots – those are tools made of wood –
And while you are at it, three sleighs would be good.
Count paper thread bobbins and also some spools
Thirty altogether – such colorful jewels!
And lampposts and bears, don’t let us forget!
If you find three of each, my friends, you’re all set!
We’ve finished our game, our task it is done!
Merry Christmas to all – and God bless us, each one!
And a Jigsaw, Of Course!
And we can’t forget the jigsaw…
You’ll find it right here:

(PS: I always set the jigsaws up with 100 pieces, but you can adjust that on the web page and increase or decrease the number of pieces as you wish.)
I hope you enjoy these, and I hope you have a happy Christmas!
