Sardinian Knotted Embroidery – Two Winners!

Amazon Books

Good morning, friends! And Happy Saturday!

My first task this morning was to sort through the comments on the book give-away I’ve been running this week and to randomly draw the names of two people who will receive brand spankin’ new copies of Yvette Stanton’s latest book, Sardinian Knotted Embroidery.

If you’re just joining us and you missed the give-away, you can read my review of Sardinian Knotted Embroidery here. It’s a lovely little book!

Sardinian Knotted Embroidery by Yvette Stanton

Thanks to Vetty Creations, there are two book winners today, and without further ado, here they are:

Janet Knapp, who replied thus to my original question on the give-away (what appeals to you about this type of embroidery?):

Any type of counted work has always seemed like a challenge to me. My having traveled in several foreign countries years ago I was able to purchase quality even count fabrics and have always enjoyed the variety of stitches one can do …with patience. The Sardinian Knotted Embroidery offers yet one more challenge and one I have tried, however feel it needs practice as well. Would love the opportunity to have this specialized book to learn more.

Karen O from MN wrote this reply to what appeals to her about it:

Now that I have a home full of counted cross stitch items that I have made over the past 50 years….(yes! 50 years!), I would like to try some new stitching. I am passionate about black-work and have made several wonderful biscornu, needle books and scissor holders. I am completely new to Sardinian knotted embroidery and this book will show me how to add another branch to my stitchery tree. And to make matters better, I have both eyes in perfect condition now that the cataracts have been removed. You youngsters out there…..watch out! I’m a grandma who will never stop stitching! The projects in this book are just perfect for me.

Ladies, please drop me a line with your mailing info, and the books will be winging their respective ways to you as soon as possible.

I’m holing up in the studio today. There’s just something about 110-degree weather with high humidity that makes me want to lurk indoors. I’ll be finishing some stitch samples for an upcoming magazine article (more on that later), and doing all the typical Saturday organization, clean up, and web work. Yes, I have high hopes that it will be a productive day!

Whether or not it will turn out that way in the end is a Different Question…

Hope you have a terrific weekend and can enjoy some quality time with your needle and thread!

  4. Congratulations to both of you ladies! Hope you enjoy your books!
Luckily, yet strangely, it hasn’t gotten above ninety degrees ferienheit up here this summer. And it has Rained. Usually we have at least a few weeks of hundred-degree wether. 110; yeah, that would make me stay inside, too.
Can’t wait to see those stitch samples 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Congrats to the winners, I hope you enjoy them muchly! And thanks to Mary & Yvette for organising this giveaway.
Mary, I can’t imagine 110 degrees. Here it’s warmed up a little and is a blustery, rainy 7C (44.6!) I hope you are able to cool down a bit. If I were able, I’d organise us a heat swap 🙂

  8. Congratulations to the winners. I hope you have many hours of joy learning the new techniques.

BTW, Mary, do you choose the winners by a random process or do you go through them all to find the ‘best’ answer to your question/s? Just wondering ….
