Happy Thanksgiving (& Lots Coming Up!)

Amazon Books

Good morning, my friends!

I know it’s a day early, but I’m popping in today to wish each and every person who reads this a Happy Thanksgiving on the morrow!

Even though tomorrow is a US holiday, Thanksgiving evokes a sentiment that’s universal – gratitude. So no matter where you are, it’s worth a little celebration!

I could list thousands of things for which I’m grateful, and high near the top of that list is you – each of you who makes up a part of our little Needle ‘n Thread community.

Your support, inspiration, encouragement, questions, suggestions, your participation and enthusiasm, your love of needlework… I’m so thankful that you are a regular part of my life! Thank you, from the depths of my innermost self, for being a vital part of Needle ‘n Thread.

Happy Thanksgiving, 2018

Tomorrow, I’ll be spending Thanksgiving Day with family and friends here in our little Kansas town. It promises to be a good time, as always! I’ll be out and about first thing in the morning and away from the computer most of the day. It’ll be the first time in 7 weeks that I’ve had a whole day off, so I’m really looking forward to it.

A Thousand Flowers – Coming Friday!

Friday morning, I’m launching A Thousand Flowers here on Needle ‘n Thread – not only the e-book with charts and tips, but also a kit to go along with it, for those who want the supplies all in one neat little package.

I’m really excited about the kit! The silks are beautiful. Gathered snugly all in one package, they look like a shimmering collection of jewels. They were fun to put together!

Sadly, I only have a small number of the kits available right now, with a few more in the works while awaiting one color of silk. I’m launching the ones that are ready on Friday, November 23, at 7:00 am central time. Then I’ll add the others to the website when the last awaited thread arrives.

The kit and e-book bundle will sell for $80, which includes a 50% discount on the e-book. The kit itself is the retail value of all its parts, making it a convenient and cost effective way to acquire the supplies for the Tapestry Smalls.

A Stitcher’s Christmas, 2018

This coming Monday, November 26, my yearly pre-Christmas give-away series kicks off with five copies of A Passion for Needlework: Factoria VII looking for new homes. Don’t forget to join in the fun on Monday morning!

Later in the week, the series continues with a glorious crewel kit and a special matching gift, perfect for Christmas.

Lots to Come – Hope You’ll Join Me!

There’s lots more to come on Needle ‘n Thread in the following weeks – I hope you’ll join me in spreading the love of All Things Needlework, along with a healthy dose of good cheer!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  4. Love, and follow your blog every post! I just came upon a filling stitch you might find interesting. It is on a Youtube series showing various Indian “Nakshi kantha” stitches. Here is the site:

and it was the filling stitch on the flowers I thought you might like to see. It is a variation on chain stitch I had not come across before.

    1. Hi, Jeanette – Thanks for thinking of me! That filling in the red is buttonhole stitch! ๐Ÿ™‚ She starts it with a kind of open chain, which is typical when filling a shape like that.

  5. May your day be filled with blessings and joy Mary. Happy, happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for all your giving as well, it brings a happy light to many of our days, and not only helpful but just fun as well.

  7. Mary, on the contrary, it is your never-failing good humour and charm that has kept many, I daresay, of us sane and on the right track.

I wish you and your family and friends a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  8. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Each year my family makes a Thanksgiving tree: a bunch of colored paper taped on the wall to look like a tree, with felt leaves. Each leaf has a slip of paper attached to it on which we write things that we are thankful for. This year, Needle’n’Thread appeared on the tree! Thank you so much! Your blog is such a treasure.
