Autumn Fire: A (Very) Close-Up Sneak Peek

Amazon Books

Well, here’s something fun – a little sneak peek on a wee project coming up. (Not-So-Subtle Hint: the next Stitch Snippet.)

It’s called Autumn Fire, and it’s a small snippet-of-a-project, in which we will learn many good embroidery things.

The launch date for this particular project, which will involve a kit, is yet uncertain, but it should happen before the end of August.

There are Big Things going on here, though – including a whole studio move – but I am hoping to launch the kit before the move happens. I will certainly keep you abreast!

Autumn Fire: Upcoming Stitch Snippet

Autumn Fire is going to be a small Snippet. It’s relatively quick to stitch, but it’s packed with good learning experiences, like working with silk threads, combining colors, loosening up on transfer techniques, getting sketchy, and successfully finishing for display.

It’s a super-satisfactory little project!

And I can say this for sure because I have now stitched it three times. And I’m pretty certain there’s a fourth – and possibly a fifth – ahead, too.

With this project, we’ve worked out how to better gauge the supplies to include and their amounts.

We’ve also made a Huge Effort to better estimate the amount of kits to prepare, and how to sensibly prepare a greater quantity, while still being able to accomplish other things.

There are some other little presentation nuances with this project, too, but they’ll keep until we get a little closer.

I just wanted to let you know it’s coming! Autumn Fire will be here soon! It won’t take nearly as long to stitch as the previous Snippet projects (the Bee-Jeweled Pincushion and Cotton Quartet), so I hope you’ll reserve a little time for it during the transitional days into fall.

Autumn Fire: Upcoming Stitch Snippet

This is a “macro” picture taken with my phone, and it comes off with a very painterly look to it. Sometimes, I like this look, but it doesn’t really give you the sense of thread the same way, does it?

Well, I’m itching for fall (said while the thermometer tips the 102-degree mark), so that’s why I had to sneak peek this project now!

Embroidery Kits Phasing Out for 2022

If you want a Bee-Jeweled Pincushion kit or a Cotton Quartet kit before the end of the year, now’s the time to get them! I have a few pincushion kits available still, and a new supply of Cotton Quartet in stock right now. You’ll find them both here.

We’re not going to be able to restock Cotton Quartet again before the end of the year, due to a thread supply issue. So this round is the last round for 2022. I’ve already notified everyone on the advanced notice list, so if you were on that list and didn’t get an email, please check your spam filter!

Another kit we have available right now is my Christmas Mini Sampler Stockings kit, also available here. This is the supply kit for these Sampler Stockings Christmas ornaments. We won’t be stocking (no pun intended) these kits again this year, either. The kit contains a good amount of lovely threads, including specialty metallics that are still priced according to last year’s cost. Yay! If you’re ready to get your Christmas stitching going, this is a great way to do it. The e-book of instructions for the sampler stocking ornaments is available here.

Big Move Coming Up

As I mentioned above, we’re shifting to a new studio space soon! I’ll share some pictures with you over the next month as this happens. There’s a lot of work to do to get ready for the move, to get the space ready, and to get situated again, but I’m hoping it all happens rather quickly. I’m looking forward to telling you all about it!

Other than that – Goldwork. Autumn Fire. Reticello. And some Christmas designs. That’s what’s on my stitching plate. It’s full!

I hope you’re enjoying some good bonding time with your own needle and thread!

  1. Congratulations! Hope your “new digs” are just as nice or better than your current location. I took a little trip down memory lane & reread your “new studio” post from 2018. You were so excited to share details & photos—your front door with wrought iron railing, the Jacobean drapes, a pair of comfy chairs & the kitchen! Plus Bridget subsequently captured its essence for posterity with her charming watercolor. I’m looking forward to another “company tour” when you get settled. Best wishes!

    1. Thanks, Suzette! I definitely will do that! But I have to admit, at the moment, the outside of the building is pretty dreadful… and the inside is undergoing some necessary work (like installing a bathroom and adding a wall to close it off from a previously connected building. I’ll take before and after pictures, since it’s going to be a work in progress. *sigh* The timing isn’t what I expected, so it’s going to be a bit of a frenzy!

  2. EZ SNIP CURVED SCISSORS -HUSQVARNA (JOANN)
