Wildflowers in Wool – a New Embroidery Kit

Amazon Books

Back in February, I began exploring DMC’s new Eco Vita naturally-dyed wool embroidery threads, working a small and satisfying little project that we first looked at here.

The project developed over time, undergoing a few changes. And then it developed into an embroidery kit – Wildflowers in Wool, which is available now.

I worked the samples for this kit using ten colors of Eco Vita wool thread, and I stitched the design on a gorgeous white linen twill that is new this year to the embroidery market.

One of my goals with Wildflowers in Wool was to create a design that is accessible for any level of stitcher, from absolute beginner and beyond. To that end, the project involves a variety of simple stitches that are good to have as part of your embroidery repertoire.

The other goal: to give you an opportunity to try out this linen twill and these wool threads, in a project that’s already organized for you and ready to stitch.

The kit includes ten full skeins of Eco Vita, linen twill with the design pre-transferred for you, the appropriate needles, and instructions.

You only need to provide a hoop and scissors. I recommend a 6″ hoop if you want the design to fit comfortably – I have this one available, with linen twill tape for wrapping). If you don’t have embroidery scissors (or if you’re giving the kit as a gift to a beginner), these little scissors are affordable and perfect for the job.

Previously, the instructions for most of my kits have always been delivered as digital downloads, but this kit comes with full-color printed instructions included inside the kit.

You can read the full description of the kit here in the product listing, where it is now in stock and available to ship to the US and Canada. The kit ships via Priority Mail within 24 hours of purchase.

If the kit sells out, we will re-stock it, never fear! We are currently awaiting the arrival of backordered threads.

I will eventually have a downloadable option for this design, for those who can’t purchase the kit (or who want to work it from their own stash). It will be available in the not-too-distant future, as an e-book. Please be a little patient on this one – I’m working up a different approach for this type of simpler embroidery project.

So that’s our latest addition to the shop on Needle ‘n Thread! Feel free to pop in to see what else we’ve added lately, too!
