Tools Today! They’re Beautiful – and they’re Here!

Amazon Books

Last week, we chatted about a line of turned, handcrafted needlework tools coming into the shop, and I’m so happy to say that they arrived, they’re beautiful, and they’re ready for you right here!

I’ve also brought in some lovely enamel needle minders, if you’re looking for magnetic needle minders for “parking” your embroidery needles while you work, or for holding charts, patterns, or instructions onto your frame. Personally, I love needle minders. I use them for a gazillion things beyond needle minding (anything you can use a magnet for), and they just make me happy. It’s that whole Beauty + Function thing. You can never have too many needle minders. (Can you?)

Needlework Tools in stock now

The turned tools are handcrafted from native and exotic hardwoods, color wood, or synthetic polymers. They are finished beautifully and fitted with high quality hardware. Right now, I have the dual seam ripper / stiletto (also functional as a laying tool) in stock, as well as the fine wire needle thread, small needle cases on rings (the ring is perfect for mounting thread cards for small portable projects); and crochet sets with 8 interchangeable hooks.

You can find individual listings for each type of tool here in the shop. Each product photo shows the available tools, numbered, so that you can order from the drop-down menu the exact tool shown. You’ll also see the type of material the tool is made from.

Please remember that these are hand-crafted. I don’t have an unlimited stock, but if they prove to be something the Needle ‘n Thread community wants to have on hand, then I’ll be working further with the artisan who made them to restock as soon as they can be. As we all know, hand crafted items take time, so please be patient!

Enamel needle minders

And the new collection of enamel needle minders is available here. These are so pretty! They have lovely details and rich, rich color. The magnet is strong enough to use the needle minder as a scarf pin. (I tried it yesterday – it worked great!)

The needle minders work well for needles and small scissors (with care). If you’re moving a hoop around a lot, I personally wouldn’t leave my good scissors on any magnet, but if you are seated at a frame, these work well enough to hold small scissors.

And that, my friends, is the product drop in the shop for today! This year, we are expanding a few things in the shop, but some of those things (including a stable line of linen and – we’re working on it – some different thread collections) take time, but eventually, we’ll get there.

In the meantime, I’ve been working on instructions for some kits, as well as putting together tutorials and other content for Needle ‘n Thread. We’ve got the first stitch-along developing (we always stitch it a couple times before we finalize the kit contents and set a date to launch it), but we’ll get there!

As always, the year seems to roll out slowly, but next thing you know, we’ll be wondering where summer went! So many ideas, so many projects, so little time… but we’ll get there, too!

Hope your week is trucking along splendidly!
