Peacock Embroidery Kit Winner

Amazon Books

Last week, we looked up-close at this glorious peacock embroidery kit by Canevas Folies and then had a little give-away for one of the kits.

Time to find out who the winner is…

Peacock Embroidery Kit by Canevas Folies

The regal peacock sure does have a terrific fan base. All you have to do is count the unending number of Pinterest boards dedicated to the peacock, to see how popular he is! He shows up in all kinds of arts and crafts forms, too – from stained glass to wrought iron to needlework, pen & ink, watercolors, glass etching, quilling and other paper crafts.

Word of advice: don’t start digging through Pinterest for peacocks. While your adventure will begin as a perpetual visual feast, before you know it, you’ll realize you’ve been sucked into the Black Hole of Unrecoverable Time!

In any case, I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves peacocks! And I’m happy that one of you will have the opportunity to stitch this beautiful little kit from Canevas Folies.

The winner, drawn randomly, is Sharon Kooyman, who answered my question “What’s your favorite embroidery stitch and why?” thus:

Wow, This is a hard question, but I am going to say long and short stitch, because so much can be done with it. I think that it is a stitch that can challenge and make us reach for the beauty that can we can produce from just one stitch. I love many other stitches also, like french knots, bullion, chain etc. I just love embroidery.

Drop me a line, Sharon, with your mailing address, and your peacock will be winging its way to you next week!

If you want to get your hands on the peacock embroidery kit by Canevas Folies, they’re available at French Needle (in the US) and from Canevas Folies (in Switzerland).

A happy weekend to all!

  3. Dear Mary,
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in another give-a-way. I love the anticipation, like a kid at Christmas! Congratulations to Sharon. I sense another very worthy winner. And …….. Oh the Black Hole of Unrecoverable Time! I’m very busy with work and reading your blog is the only fun internet thing I’m “allowed” to look at until the reports are done. Thank you for the lovely break each day!
