I learned to embroider when I was a kid, when everyone was really into cross stitch (remember the '80s?). Eventually, I migrated to surface embroidery, teaching myself with whatever I could get my hands on...read more

Happy Easter! Hurry up, Spring!

Amazon Books

I’m a little late to the game here, wishing you a belated Happy Easter!

I took a much-needed short break starting mid-week last week, and by this coming Friday, I should be back to regular scheduled work.

If you have placed any orders in the shop this past week, they will ship by this Friday.

In the spirit of utter unoriginality, I’m sharing one of my favorite Easter pictures again. Not the greatest photo in the world, mind you, but oh, what a cutie!

Happy Easter, 2024

The embroidered cloth in the background is a free hand embroidery pattern here on Needle ‘n Thread. You can find it here.

The same design can be found pre-printed and ready to stitch in this Spring Variety towel set, which is rather low in stock at the moment. (Sorry! We will catch up on those soon!)

I used the embroidered towel in the image above to line an Easter basket. It worked great! And it just so happened that my niece’s rabbits had done the Rabbit Thing that year and reproduced a darling litter of wee bunnies just in time for Easter. What could be more fun than real little baby bunnies at Easter?

So, coming up, we will get Purple Posy finished up. And we’ll move forward on many things that I had planned to share a bit earlier, but that we can catch up on now. For example, linen! I have much to share with you about linen! We’ll continue exploring different types of wool threads for embroidery. And we will start some new projects and update you on some not-so-new projects. Woohoo!

I’m glad to be back and feeling a bit better. Here’s to sunshine and spring weather!
